Meet Your Kidney Dietitian

HI THERE! I'M KATE 🙂
I’m a Registered Dietitian, Licensed Dietitian, and the owner of Your Kidney Dietitian LLC: a private nutrition practice based in Chicago, IL. I am passionate about teaching people with chronic kidney disease how to use a plant based diet to preserve kidney function and delay dialysis.
When I first began working with people with kidney disease, it was in a dialysis clinic. Many patients came to me afraid to eat anything at all for fear of eating the wrong thing. To date, I’ve helped hundreds of patients understand how to not only live with dialysis, but thrive on dialysis as much as they possibly can.
But I started thinking – what about the 37 million people living in the United States who have pre-dialysis (CKD stages 1-5) kidney disease? What if I could help people in the earlier stages of disease, before kidney disease has progressed to the point that dialysis or transplant are the only options?
Your Kidney Dietitian was born.
In my practice I help people understand why it’s important to make diet and lifestyle changes to preserve their kidney function – and there’s no better time to start than today. I guide my clients to a better understanding of what kidney disease is, and how to treat not only the symptoms, but also to address the root causes of their own unique disease process. I’ll help you let go of fears and misconceptions, and gain confidence that you CAN manage your kidney disease and continue to do all the things that you love to do in your life – traveling, being active, and spending precious time with friends and family.
