About

Meet Your Kidney Dietitian

HI THERE! I'M KATE 🙂

I’m a Registered Dietitian, Licensed Dietitian, and the owner of Your Kidney Dietitian LLC: a virtual nutrition practice based in Chicago, IL. I am passionate about teaching people with chronic kidney disease how to use a plant based diet to preserve kidney function and delay dialysis.

When I first began working with people with kidney disease, it was in a dialysis clinic. Many patients came to me afraid to eat anything at all for fear of eating the wrong thing. To date, I’ve helped hundreds of patients understand how to not only live with dialysis, but thrive on dialysis as much as they possibly can.

But I started thinking – what about the 37 million people living in the United States who have pre-dialysis (CKD stages 1-5) kidney disease? What if I could help people in the earlier stages of disease, before kidney disease has progressed to the point that dialysis or transplant are the only options?

Your Kidney Dietitian was born.

When you’re my patient, I’ll guide you in implementing diet and lifestyle changes to maintain current kidney function and slow further damage. Once you understand the link between kidney health and diet, you’ll set changes into motion that ease the burden on the kidneys by addressing root causes – rather than just managing symptoms. As my patient, you’ll let go of fears and misconceptions, and gain the confidence that you CAN manage your kidney disease and continue to do all the things that you love to do in your life – traveling, being active, and spending precious time with friends and family.

Ready to finally feel confident that you’re making the best food choices for optimal kidney health? Let’s chat!
